Parade Information:
Led by Grand Marshal and Olympic Silver Medalist Vicky Galindo, this slice of Americana will feature the James Logan High School Marching Band, hot as can be after their performance at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
You'll also see lavish floats decorated by Bay Area businesses and cultural organizations, championship performers, and of course, huge helium balloons! Children and families will watch from the sidewalks as top equestrian units, shiny classic cars, fire trucks, local sports teams, and many other groups march by on Union City streets.
Details:
- Starts at 10:00 AM sharp! Parade route is on Alvarado-Niles Rd., between Dowe Ave. and H St.
- Alvarado-Niles Rd. will be closed on the north side of the median from approximately 8:00 AM until after the parade has ended.

Traffic will be diverted to one lane in each direction from Hop Ranch Rd. to Meyers Dr. There will be no left turns onto Alvarado-Niles Rd. between those two points.
- Side streets within the industrial park are subject to temporary closure or detours to accommodate the parade production.

Visitors to the park at Kennedy Community Center will find a huge car show waiting, featuring a wide variety of vintage cars and trucks. What better way to pay tribute the 50th Anniversary than an exciting Parade and Car Show right here in Union City’s own backyard?
Every vehicle entered in the show will receive a 50th Anniversary commemorative dash plaque and an event t-shirt.
