New Year's Eve 2009 - Year-End Gala

Union City’s 50th Anniversary Celebration will come to a close just like it began, at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve. But the 2009 event will be very different from the first, as this party will mark the end to a fabulous year-long celebration.

The Gala will be the event where we offer special recognition and acknowledgement of all those individuals and corporations that worked so tirelessly to make this celebration possible. We’ll honor our generous sponsors and contributors, and thank our volunteers.

We’ll also take a trip down memory lane, with multi-media presentations throughout the evening showing the finest moments from the events of 2009. And of course, no New Year’s Eve would be complete without great food, fabulous music and dancing the night away!

For folks who never want it to end, we will offer a DVDs that show our community in celebration with hundreds of photos and video summaries of each event. A copy of the DVD will be included in a time capsule that we will lock away for opening on Union City’s 100th Anniversary Celebration in 2059. Will the coming generations recognize a DVD? Maybe we’ll include a DVD player and then wait and see.
